we light a thousand lamps.
Maa Kali's night of diyas, devotion and togetherness — Bengali Philadelphia gathered under one roof, the way Pragati has done it since 1972.

আমাদের লক্ষ্য, আমাদের পরিবারA community built on culture, compassion, and continuity.
“যেখানে মা শ্যামার আশীর্বাদ, সেখানেই আমাদের বাড়ি।”
“Where Maa Shyama’s blessing dwells, there we make our home.”
Formed in 1972, Pragati is among the oldest Bengali organizations on the East Coast — dedicated to honouring our shared heritage while welcoming every neighbour, friend, and stranger into the warmth of a Bengali household.
